Thanks to the serial predator and misogynist at the top of the Republican ticket, sexual assault and harassment are currently at the front and center of our national dialogue.

Recently, a horrifying survey was released showing that 40 percent of women in the fast-food industry experience sexual harassment.1 Workers also reported staying silent for fear of retaliation – and rightfully so. When women report sexual harassment, one in five of them are subsequently denied a raise, receive worse schedules or have their hours cut.2

McDonald's restaurants employ more than 1 million workers.3 It is the second-largest employer in the country and has a well-documented and pervasive record of sexual harassment problems in its restaurants.4 If we can make McDonald's enforce a zero-tolerance sexual harassment policy now, it will send a powerful message to employers and workers everywhere.

With Trump publicly bragging about using his power and fame to sexually assault women, it's time for everyone, including iconic corporations such as McDonald's, to take action that sends a clear message: Sexual harassment and assault is never okay, and we won't stand for it.

McDonald's workers just announced that they are filing 15 complaints of sexual harassment against the company and its franchises through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The complaints describe groping, lewd comments and solicitations of sex for money from managers and supervisors. It's sexual harassment, and it's wrong. In response to the report and lawsuit, fast-food workers across the country have taken action and are calling on McDonald's to change. We need to stand with them.5

No matter what Trump and his anti-woman, right-wing apologists would have us believe, it's unacceptable for anyone to live in fear of being sexually harassed and assaulted – at work or anywhere else.

It's time for McDonald's to fix its sexual harassment problem and help ensure the safety of over a million workers. Let's make sure the courageous workers who are speaking out know that we have their backs. Click the link below to sign the petition.
