Sen. Grassley: Take back your incendiary comments about Native Americans

Dear Friend,

I created my own campaign on CREDO's new site that allows members to start their own petitions.

My petition, which is to Senator Chuck Grassley, asks the following:

Issue an immediate apology for your extremely offensive and insensitive remarks about Native Americans and come out in support of the Violence Against Women Act.

At a recent town hall my senator, Chuck Grassley, said, "[...] Under the laws of our land, you got to have a jury that is a reflection of society as a whole, and on an Indian reservation, it's going to be made up of Indians, right? So the non-Indian doesn't get a fair trial."

This is absolutely unacceptable — but it gets worse. Senator Grassley is using his bigoted views against Native Americans to justify his vote against the Violence Against Women Act — a bill supported by every woman in the Senate.

As an Iowan I am outraged by Senator Grassley's comments. Sign my petition demanding Senator Grassley issue an immediate apology for his extremely offensive and insensitive remarks and come out in support of the Violence Against Women Act.

Thank you for your support.
