Celebrate Social Security's 77th birthday at the Iowa State Fair Dear Friend, On Tuesday, Social Security will turn 77 years old. But with Steve King in office, Social Security might not have many birthdays left. Join us to celebrate Social Security's birthday at 9 a.m. at the Iowa State Fair and spread the word about King's record of voting to take away our benefits. Tuesday morning, Congressman King will speak to Iowa voters from the Des Moines Register's soap box. Undoubtedly, he'll continue claim to be a champion for seniors, despite a record of voting to cut Social Security benefits. But with your help, we can hold him accountable. Last year, protestors at the very same soap box made national news when they provoked Mitt Romney to state that "corporations are people" in front of dozens of cameras. We know the press will be watching King closely. If enough of us come out for the Social Security birthday cake delivery followed by a brief press conference, we will have a great opportunity to ensure Iowa voters hear the truth about King's record. Join Seniors Against King and CREDO members of all ages to celebrate Social Security's 77th birthday at King's soapbox speech on Tuesday at 9 a.m. Will you join us next Tuesday?
